Okay!  Now that I've experienced Pokemon Y and saved all my buddies to the Pokemon Bank, its time to restart the adventure.  This time the Nuzlocke challenge is going full speed ahead.  Lets see where we get to!

Just to lay the groundwork, here are the rules I will be adhering to:

• May only catch the first Pokemon that appears in each area
• Legendaries may be caught at any time for the sake of Pokemon Bank but may not be used
• Shiny Pokemon may be caught at any time for the sake of Pokemon Bank but may not be used unless they are the first Pokemon encountered in the area
• Trades with NPCs are acceptable, trades with humans are not
• No other Pokemon may be caught outside of the above criteria
• Release Pokemon upon fainting (aka do not save it in the PC or Bank)
• If the Pokemon is a Shiny Pokemon, it may be saved to the Bank instead
• If entire party (not PC, but current party) faints, its game over.
• If this occurs, I will not restart the game unless I wish to do another Nuzlocke challenge.  I will simply claim defeat and continue on so I can start breeding my master race Pokemon.
• Nicknames are required
• No FAQs, walkthroughs, guides or internet look-ups of anything Pokemon-related allowed.

That last rule is actually the one I'm most afraid of.  I got Songbird to level 10 and figured that was enough to roll through the first gym.  For some reason I remembered it being very easy.  First opponent was a level 10 Ledyba and they confused Songbird right out the gate.  Managed to win without issue but I had to go train up a couple more levels before I felt safe going back.  Even at 13 I had to pop a few Potions on Songbird during the Vivillion fight.

But the first badge was claimed as well as the EXP Share so all was right with the world.  Powered through to Route 7 and realized I was going to have to claim Snorlax as my Pokemon for that area since I didn't have a fishing pole and there were no bushes prior to passing him.  He nearly killed Kirby but 15 Pokeballs later he was captured.

Whew!  Next up... Badge 2...
